Anton Miller


Chief Superintendent of Police

Mr. Anton Miller is a descendent of Pine Field Acklins, Bahamas and the last of eleven children born to Ms. Naomi Williams and Ashlyn Miller Sr. (deceased).
He completed his early education at Pine Field All Age School in Acklins and L.W. Young High School in New Providence. He began his career in the culinary field at the Ambassador Beach Hotel and later went off to Switzerland to complete a six-month training in Culinary. This gave him the opportunity to be able to speak conversational German. When he returned from Switzerland, he worked for one year at the Ambassador Beach Hotel as a Chef. Realizing his true passion to become a Police Officer he applied to the Police College and was successful and joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force Organization in June 1990.
At the beginning of his career he worked at the Southern Police Station as a Constable and later was transferred to the Fort Charlotte Police Station. Mr. Miller then applied to the Police Airwing and was successful in his application. While in the Airwing he attended the Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute (B.T.V.I) where he received his Auto mechanics Certification. In the Airwing he was in charge of the maintenance section where he worked along with Bahamasair in mechanics and servicing the Police aircraft. Wanting to become a pilot he completed his Multi Engine rating at Pelican Air, a flight school at the North Perry Airport in Florida USA where he became a certified Pilot. After spending 10 years in the Airwing as a Mechanic/Pilot he was promoted to Corporal. During his time in the Airwing he also worked in different areas of the force one in particular was the November Unit.
Mr. Miller was then transferred to the Attorney General’s Office where his primary duty was to ensure persons were served summons to appear before the Magistrate and Supreme Courts. He then went on to work at the Grove Police Station as a Station Orderly and was later promoted to Sergeant where he worked in the traffic section. His work ethics gained him the position of Station Sergeant therein also gaining the opportunity to be the chauffeur for the Prime Minister.
After several years at the Grove Police Station Mr. Miller returned to the Police Air Wing where he served as Station Sergeant for both the Air Wing and the Airport Police Station. His Managerial skills were noticed, and he was asked to work at the Tourism Police Station to assist with supervising young officers that were stationed at Tourism Police Station. He was then promoted to Inspector and worked there for approximately two years before being appointed Aide de Camp to the Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes. Additionally, he completed several Training Programs locally including:

Police Training College
• Tactical Course
Internal Security Division (ISD)
Mr. Miller is the recipient of the Police Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct and the Police Meritorious Medal for outstanding performance in the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
In 2012 he was then transferred to the Cable Beach Station as the Divisional Inspector. An opportunity came for a position in the Southern District of the Bahamas and he became the Officer in Charge of Acklins, Crooked Island and Long Cay. During this period, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent and is now still presently serving in the same capacity.

Mr. Miller is married to Winsome Miller Local Office Manager Acklins, Crooked Island and Long Cay for the National Insurance Board and they are proud parents of three sons Chase Octavian Miller who is an entrepreneur in Toronto Canada, Chad Anton Miller an Able Mechanic for the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and Cohen Joshua Miller a student in Full Sail University, Orlando Florida studying for Bachelors of Science in Film.

ASP Anton Miller believes that hard work and dedication is the driving force for success. His favourite saying is "If you have to do something, do it to the best of your ability". He also believes that being a Police Officer is not just a job but a service to his country.
