Antonio Munroe


Superintendent of Police

Antonio C. Munroe, was born on 20th October, 1971, in Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera to Mervin and Polly Munroe (Deceased). He is the oldest of six (6) siblings. He attained his primary and secondary education at the P.A. Gibson All Age School, in Hatchet Bay and the Governor's Harbour High School in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera. He graduated in June, 1988.

Antonio Munroe began his career as a police officer in October 1989 and graduated from the Police College in February 1990. He was assigned to the Southern Division and later transferred to the Andros Division in December, 1990, where he worked for four (4) years.In November 1994, he was transferred to the Central Division in New Providence and during March, 1995, he was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division, NP, where he worked as an investigator in Serious Crime, General Investigation and Stolen Vehicle Sections. In October, 1997, he was transferred to Central Intelligence Bureau and then onto Interpol in 1999, where he remained for some thirteen (13) years.

In 2012, Antonio Munroe was transferred to the South Eastern Division, where he headed the Enquires Section and during the same year, he was transferred to the Urban Renewal Division, as the head of the Fox Hill Urban Center. During this period, he was responsible for coordinating and creating programs that fostered a better working relationship between the police and the community, within the Eastern Division. Moreover, during October 2015, he was transferred to the Business Inspection &Licensing Section and then onto the Cat Island Division in September, 2019; as the officer in Charge in both divisions.

Antonio Munroe graduated in June 2009, from the Omega College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management (Honors) and he attained an Associates of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management, from the Bahamas Baptist Community College during 2004. Additionally, he has represented the Royal Bahamas Police Force, internationally and regionally, attending several trainings at accredited institutions. He was also awarded a Meritorious Medal in 2007 and the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 2017. Moreover, he attained his first promotion to corporal in 2005 and rose to the rank of superintendent in 2017.

Antonio Munroe is the proud father of seven (7) children, Antonisha Munroe, Kadeja Munroe, Sante Munroe, Ashanti Munroe, Antonia Munroe, Callan Munroe and Cailan Munroe, whom he loves dearly.
