On April 20, 2020, Mr. Craig Stubbs was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police and advanced to the top tier of Royal Bahamas Police Force to become a part of the Senior Executive Leader Team (SELT). Notwithstanding, his journey began on November 20, 1966 when he was born in New Providence to Mr. Hessley and Olga Stubbs. His early education commenced at Claridge and E.P. Roberts Primary Schools respectively. He completed his secondary education at the C.H. Reeves Secondary School. After graduating from the Government High School, he enlisted into the Royal Bahamas Police Force on October 22, 1984 and was a member of 'F Squad 84-85'. On completion of his recruit training, he was assigned to the Eastern Police Station on East Bay Street. In 1987 he was transferred to the Kemp's Bay Police Station in Andros Division, where he served until 1993. On April 1, 1993 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, where he returned to New Providence and took over responsibility as Officer-in-Charge of Bay Street Patrols. He was among four (4) Corporals to open the Nassau Street Police Station.

In 1996, Mr. Stubbs advanced in rank to Sergeant whilst policing the Berry Islands District (Chub Cay) as the Officer-in-Charge. His career has flourished since then with stints at Mayaguana Division, Central Division, Traffic Division, Inagua Division, Cable Beach Division and Northeastern Division. Notably, he ascended the ranks at the Traffic Division from second in charge to officer in charge. Notwithstanding, his career progression into the senior ranks commenced on his confirmation as Inspector in 2001 followed by his promotion to Assistant Superintendent in 2009, Superintendent in 2014, Chief Superintended in 2017, and Assistant Commissioner in 2020.

Mr. Stubbs extended his education abroad and attended several noted international training courses. In 2001 he completed the Sexual Offences Investigation Techniques Course sponsored by the Metropolitan Police Detective Training School at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad. In 2006 he completed studies in Police Executive's Role in Combating Terrorism at the International Law Enforcement Academy in El Salvador. In 2009 he completed a course sponsored by the United States Department in Tactical Management of Special Events. In June 2009, he successfully completed a Senior Police Administration Course at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa Canada.

Similarly, Mr. Stubbs participated in several noted local training courses. In March 1990 he attended the Mayflower Management Institute and received a certificate of Merit in Supervisory Management & Leadership. In 1987 he received a Certificate of Proficiency after completing the Tutor Constables Course at the Police Training College. In 1990, he received a Certificate of Proficiency after completing the Station Orderly Administrative and Supervisory Course. In 1993 he attended a Corporal's Initial Course and was awarded a Certificate of Proficiency. In 1998 he completed a Course of Instruction in Criminal Investigation Training, Patrol and Inquiries. In 2003 he completed a personal development course at the College of the Bahamas in Computer Applications and Conversational Spanish I.

Mr. Stubbs is a decorated veteran within the Force and he has received several 'In Service Awards'. In 2009 Mr. Stubbs was awarded the Royal Bahamas Police Force Medal of Long Service and Good Conduct. In 2017 he received the distinguished police medal for Meritorious Service at Government House. Mr. Stubbs is an avid member of St. James Anglican Church in Adelaide Village. He was married to the late Stacy Amanda Stubbs nee Bourne. He is blessed with twins Kristernica and Kristonnia Stubbs.
