Kenrick Morris


Chief Superintendent of Police

On September 9, 1970 Kenrick K Morris was born to the proud parents of Errol and Judith Morris on the Island of New Providence. His primary school education began in Gambier Village, at Gambier Primary school in 1975. In 1981 he began his secondary education at Aquinas College where he remained until completing high school in 1987.

After completing high school, Kenrick joined the staff of Government Printing/ Publications where he remained for one year. Trying to find a better way to serve his country while earning a living, he enlisted into the Royal Bahamas Police Force on the May 2, 1989. Mr. Morris humbly served in many postings and positions over the past 31 years.

His journey has taken him through the doors of the Grove Police Station; Security and Intelligence Branch where he was instrumental in the formation of the Anti-Terrorism Unit; and Complaints and Corruption Unit. Addtionally, Morris also served on the Island of Bimini as the 2IC, Southern Police Station as the 2IC, Rapid Response Unit in Grand Bahama as the 2IC, and Fire Services Nassau and Grand Bahama where he served as 2IC until his appointed to Director of Fire Services on May 4, 2020.

On January 7, 2001 he was elevated to the position of Corporal; on the March 1, 2005 he was promoted to Sergeant; on April 1, 2006 he was promoted to Inspector; on January 1, 2017 he became a gazette police officer and ascended to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police; and on January 1, 2020 he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent an subsequently appointed to the position that he now holds.

In July, 1999 he received an Associates of Science Degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Success Training College, which served as his foundation to study in the field of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). He went on to secure a certification in this field (EOD) by attending the Royal Canadian Police College and Algonquin College located in Ottawa Canada where he received a Certification as a Police Explosives Technician.

Mr. Morris has successfully completed multiple training programs with the Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Maritime Port and Harbor Security Management Course hosted by the Antiterrorism Assistance Program (ATAP), Police Leaders Role in Combating Terrorism hosted by ATAP, Human Resources Management 1 & 2 College of the Bahamas, Advanced Improvised Explosive Devices and Terrorist Activities in Marietta Georgia and Albuquerque New Mexico, Explosive Incident Countermeasures Course in conjunction with the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge Louisiana, a Police Executive Role in Combating Terrorism course at ILEA in San Salvador, Community Emergency Response Training with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Radiological Crime Scene Management course hosted by INTERPOL in Kingston Jamaica.

Having a continued thirst for knowledge, he received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Sojourner Douglass College in Administration and Management in June 2010. He graduated class Valedictorian and in May 2012, he received his Masters Degree in Business Administration with honors from Nova Southeastern University.

Mr. Morris is the proud father of two children, Kenrick Jr. and Kenrinique Morris. He enjoys travelling.
