Found Dangerous Drugs

Police in Bimini are investigating the discovery of a quantity of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Thursday 15th February 2018, shortly after 3:00pm, officers of the Bimini Division went to an area in Alice Town, Queens Highway North Bimini, where they discovered in an abandoned building a clear plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected Dangerous Drugs namely cocaine. The estimated street value is seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00), no arrest was made in this matter. Police are actively investigating.

Female Arrested for Firearm Possession

She was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before court this week.



January 28, 2018
Police Seize AK-47. Two Men in Custody

Shortly before 4:00am on Sunday, 28th January, 2018 officers from the Anti-Gang and Firearms Unit along with officers from the Rapid Response Unit acting on information while at Victoria Avenue, conducted a search of a 2015 Kia Sportage jeep and recovered a black AK 47 machine gun and 17 rounds of ammunition.

Two male and a female were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.

Anti-Gang and Firearm Unit Make Firearm Arrest

Officers retrieved from the male a brown Austria Pistol. The male was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.

Mobile Division Seize Two Illegal Firearms

In the first incident, shortly before 9:00pm, officers from the Mobile Division, responded to a report of gunshots being heard on Fire Trail Road, near to Bahamas Faith Ministries Church. Upon arrival at that location, officers saw a man sitting in a vehicle, acting in a suspicious manner. The man upon seeing the officers, ran from a vehicle while throwing an object into nearby bushes. The officers caught the man, conducted a search of the bushes and recovered a .40 Austria Glock Pistol and 14 round of ammunition.

In the second Incident, shortly after 10:00pm, Mobile Division officers, acting on information conducted a search of two men and the vehicle they were sitting in, while at Straw Flower Road, Montel Heights, and recovered a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun. The men were arrest and are expected to be formally charged before court later this week.

Abaco Police Makes Firearm Arrest

Reports are that on Wednesday 17th January 2018 shortly after 10:00pm, officers arrest a 23 year old male in the Central Pines, Dundas Town area, after he was found in possession of a .380 pistol with a magazine containing six .380 live rounds of ammunition.

He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court later this week. Investigation into this matter continues.

South-Central Division Seize Firearm

One of the males, upon seeing the officers, threw a firearm to the ground before both of them fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the men. The handgun was retrieved and found to be a 9 millimeter Pistol. ,p> No arrest was made in this matter.

Police Investigates Shooting. Illegal Firearm Seized

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm, three men, while on Malcolm Road, got into an argument with a male armed with a firearm, who shot one of them before calling the police. The gunman was taken into custody and a .38 revolver was recovered. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition. Investigations are ongoing.

Two Americans Arrested for Firearm in Abaco

Two American citizens were arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter is continuing.



January 4, 2018
Illegal Firearm Seized. Man and Woman in Custody

According to reports, around 10:00am, Drug Enforcement Officers, acting on intelligence, searched a home and property at Gerald Bartlett Estates off Cowpen Road and recovered an AK 47 rifle and 31 rounds of 7.62 ammunition.

The male and female are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.



January 19, 2018
Dangerous Drug Arrest-Grand Bahama

Reports are that on Friday 19th January 2018, shortly before 5:00pm, police were called to the U.S Customs and Boarder Protection Agency at the Grand Bahama International Airport, where a male had presented himself for travel to the United States. The male appeared suspicious, was subsequently searched and a quantity of suspected cocaine was discovered strapped to his body. He was placed under arrested and taken into police custody. The street value of the suspected cocaine is $8,000.

Investigation is continuing in this matter.

Police Searching for Suspect in Overnight Shooting

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a man was standing outside a residence on St. John's Road, Pinewood Gardens, when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm, who shot him before running off. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.
