Police are investigating a shooting incident

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday 24th, August 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 5:00 p.m., police received reports of a shooting incident that occurred on Water Street, Big Pond. Officers were dispatched and on their arrival at the scene they were directed to a male who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital via Emergency Medical Services. His condition is listed as critical.

Initial investigations revealed that the male was outside his residence when a small white vehicle approached. Two males exited the vehicle armed with firearms, they discharged their weapons in his direction, hitting him several times about the body. Investigation into this matter continues.
