Police have launched an investigation into the latest Homicide

Detectives on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male which occurred on Monday 12th, July 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 6:00 p.m., police were called to a shooting incident that occurred on East Street opposite Coconut Grove Avenue. Officers responded and on their arrival at a Car Wash, they were directed to the body of a male lying on the ground under a shelter with wounds consistent with gunshots. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and pronounced the male lifeless.

Initial investigation reveals that a small vehicle pulled up to the car wash. A male exited armed with a firearm and discharged it in the direction of a number of people who were gather under the shelter, fatally injuring the victim. Investigations into this matter continue.
