POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE LATEST HOMICIDE
Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a female found lifeless on Monday 18th, January 2021.

Preliminary reports are that police received a report shortly before 4:00 p.m., that the body of a female was found unresponsive on a property situated on South Creek Close off Marshall Road West. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they were directed to the northwestern corner of the property. They found the body of a female lying on the ground with severe blunt force trauma injuries to the head. The body appeared to be in the early stages of Rigor mortis, Investigations into this matter continues.

POLICE ARRESTED A MALE SUSPECT IN THE ACT OF COMMITTING ARMED ROBBERY
The strategic deployment of the mobile patrolling units by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have resulted in the arrest of an Armed Robber while in the commission of the act on Monday 18th, January 2021.

Preliminary reports are that while on mobile patrol shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Peardale Road, officers were alerted to a robbery in progress by two customers who ran out of the Peardale Supermarket. The officers cautiously proceeded towards the establishment and observed the two males in the process of robbing the cashier. Weapons drawn; the officers entered the establishment and identified themselves to the suspects and demanded that they surrender. One of the suspects complied and was immediately arrested, however, the second suspect fled the store and made good his escaped. Investigations into this matter is ongoing

. POLICE DISCOVER DANGEROUS DRUGS
The crime fighting initiatives employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in the discovery and removal of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence on Monday 18th January 2021. Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 12:00 noon, officers from the K9 and Operations Unit executed a search warrant on a residence situated on New Hope Drive. The police K9 was deployed and a short time later alerted its handler to an abandon Suzuki vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a white plastic bag containing a grassy substance believed to be marijuana. No arrest was made during this incident. Investigations into this matter continue.

POLICE ARRESTED THREE MALES FOR POSSESSION OF AN UNLICENSED FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
The crime fighting initiatives employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, have again resulted in the arrest of three persons for possession of firearm and ammunition, as well as a firearm being found on Monday 18th, January 2021.

Preliminary reports states that shortly after 11:00 p.m., while on routine mobile patrol on Kemp Road. Officers from the Operations Unit observed the driver of a blue Chevy Cruz in the process of exiting a property onto Kemp Road. The driver then stopped mid-way and reversed onto the property from which it was exiting. This action aroused the officers' suspicion, the vehicle was pursued. While at a stop three male occupants were instructed to exit the vehicle. A field search was conducted, during which a black Smith and Wesson .40 pistol and (8) unfired rounds of ammunitions were found. The males were arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.

In a second incident, preliminary reports indicate that sometime after 7:00 a.m., acting on intelligence officers from the Operations Unit proceeded to Yamacraw Hill Road. While in the area of a liquor Store, a search was conducted around the building. One of the officers discovered a black Glock 9mm pistol. Investigations into this matter continue.
