Police are investigating a suspicious death

Police on the island of New Providence have launched an investigation into the discovery of a partially decomposed body of a male on Tuesday 29th, June 2021.

Preliminary reports are that sometime before 3:00 p.m., police were called to the New Providence Landfill, where an employee found a body floating in a well. Officers responded and on their arrival, they were directed to a Sup Well where they discovered the body of a partially decomposed male floating in the well. The body was retrieved from the well. This incident is being classified as a suspicious death at this time. Police will await an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death and an identification by a next of kin, to confirm the victims' identity. Investigations into this matter continue.

Police have launched an investigation into the latest Homicide

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the events surrounding the death of a male which occurred on Wednesday 30th, June 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 1:00 a.m., police were alerted to gunshots being discharged on Lyon Road off Shirley Street. A patrolling unit responded and on the officer's arrival to the area. They met a white Nissan Cube at a stop in the middle of the street at the T-junction of St. Margaret and Lyon Road, with the engine still running.

An inspection of the vehicle revealed a dark male slumped forward in the driver's seat. He was unresponsive when checked by the officers. Emergency Medical Services were summoned and following their examination of the male he was pronounced lifeless. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
