Police are investigating an apparent drowning

Preliminary reports are that sometime around 11:00 a.m., police received reports of a body that was found submerged in waters under a boat which is docked at the western end of Porter's Cay Dock.

Officers responded and on their arrival, they confirmed the report. The body of an adult male was retrieved from the water. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and pronounce the body lifeless following their assessment.

Police will await an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death and the identification of a next of kin to confirm the victim's identity. Investigations into this matter continue.
