Police are investigating a recent Homicide

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding a recent homicide that occurred on Thursday 17th, June 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 10:00 p.m. police were alerted to shooting incident which occurred on Alocasia Ave, Garden Hills. Officers responded and their arrival at the scene, they found two males and a females suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Services were summoned, they transported the victims to the hospital, where one of the males later succumbed to his injuries and the others remain in stable condition.

Initial inquiries revealed that a silver mid-size silver vehicle approached a residence, where a male and female were sitting outside on a wall. A male exited, armed with a firearm and opened fire, injuring both of them.

The suspect then returned to the vehicle, and as the driver attempted to flee in a western direction along Alocasia Ave. Their vehicle was impeded by another vehicle that was travelling in the opposite direction.

One of the suspect exited their vehicle and fired several shots at the vehicle that was obstructing them. The driver was shot several times about his body. Investigations into this matter continue.
