May 19, 2021 Police launched an investigation into the latest Homicide Preliminary reports are that shortly after 1:00 p.m., police were called to the Government High School to investigate a stabbing incident involving students. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they were directed to a corridor where they found a male student lying unresponsive on the ground and another suffering from injuries.
Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and rendered medical attention. One of the males was transported to hospital, where he is listed in serious condition. The other was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that two male student were engaged in a conversation, when they were approached by two other males. An altercation ensued, this resulted in two of the students receiving stab wounds. The suspects then fled the school prior to the arrival of the police. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
Police arrested and charge a male suspect for Trespassing Following a compliant made by officials from the Ministry of Housing. On Tuesday 18th May 2021, officers from the South Western Division arrested a male resident of Marine Road, Westwind. He was later charged for the offense of Trespassing on land situated on Carmichael Road, east of The Carmichael Subdivision development. The suspect will appear before the Magistrates Court on Thursday 20th, May 2021 where he will be formally arraigned.
Police discovers dangerous drugs, ammunition and bulletproof vests The application of Royal Bahamas Police Force's crime fighting strategies have resulted in the discovery of a quantity of dangerous drugs, ammunition and bulletproof vests on Tuesday 18th, May 2021.
Preliminary reports are the shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence, proceeded to a targeted site in the community of Bozine Town. On their arrival, a search was conducted of a bushy area. During the search the officers found two bags containing suspected marijuana.
They also found (2) bullet proof vest along with (163) one hundred sixty-three rounds of ammunition. The suspected drugs weighted 7lbs 6 ounces and has an estimated street value of $750. There was no arrest made during this discovery, however, investigations into this matter are ongoing.
