Police arrested a male and female suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearms

The strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to the removal of two unlicensed firearms from the streets of New Providence and the arrest of a male and female.

In the first incident preliminary reports are that shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday 8th, May 2021 Officers from the Operations Unit were on routine patrol on St Charles Vincent Street, when they observed the occupants of a gray Nissan Note who aroused their suspicion. The vehicle was stopped, and a field search was conducted. During the search, the officers discovered a black revolver. As a result, a male and female were arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.

In the second incident preliminary reports indicates that shortly before 1:00 p.m., on Sunday 9th, May 2021 acting on information, officers from the Southern Division proceeded to an abandon building located on Plantol Street. While there the officers conducted a search of the building and discovered a pistol containing two unfired rounds of ammunition. No arrest was made during this incident.
