POLICE ARRESTED FOUR MALES SUSPECTS FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM

The proactive initiative employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have resulted in the discovery and removal of an unlicensed firearm from the streets of New Providence on Tuesday 13th, April 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 4:00 p.m., officers from the Operations Unit were on routine mobile patrol in the area of the old Paradise Island Bridge, when they observed the occupants of a silver Toyota Passo who aroused their suspicion. The officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a field search. During the process, one of the officers found a black pistol containing (5) five unfired rounds of ammunition. As a result, four male suspects were arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.
