POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE LATEST HOMICIDE, A MALE SUSPECT IS IN CUSTODY

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male which occurred on Monday 12th, April 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 5:00 p.m., police received information that while on Key West Street, two males were involved in an argument. This resulted in one of the males stabbing the other with a knife several times about the body. The victim was transported to the hospital via a private vehicle, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A twenty-three-year-old male suspect was later arrested and taken into custody. He is assisting police with the investigations into this incident.

POLICE ARRESTED A MALE SUSPECT FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS

The interagency cooperation with the Royal Bahamas Police Force has resulted in the discovery of a quantity of dangerous drugs and the arrest of a male suspect on Monday 12th, April 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers from the Airport Police Station at the Linden Pindling International Airport, acting on intelligence arrested and took into custody a male citizen from the United States after he was discovered with a quantity of suspected marijuana. He is expected to be formally charged later in the week as investigations into this matter continues.

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A SUSPECTED DROWNING

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a suspected drowning after the discovery of a body on Tuesday 13 April, 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 9:00 a.m., police were called to waters off the former Pioneers Shipping Dock located on Bay Street. While there, officers fished the partially decomposed body of a male from the water. Police will await an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death and the identification of a next of kin to determine the victim's identity. Investigations into this matter continue.
