POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday 26th, February 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 11:00 a.m., police were alerted to a shooting incident that occurred at a business establishment situated on Winsor Field Road. Officers responded, and on their arrival they spoke to a Security Officer who stated that while making checks of the property surrounding the business establishment, he noticed two vehicles parked next to each other. While approaching the vehicles, he heard the sound of a shotgun being loaded. As he attempted to retreat, he was shot in the face. The occupants of both vehicles sped off and made good their escape. The victim was transported to the hospital, his condition is not known at this time. Investigations into this matter continue.

POLICE CITED OFFENDERS FOR BREACH OF THE COVID19 ORDER
Police on the island of New Providence cited 23 people for Breach of the COVID19 Emergency Order on Saturday 27th, February 2021.

In the first incident, preliminary reports are that shortly after 4:00 p.m., acting on information officers from the Operations Unit proceeded to the parking lot of a business establishment located on Robinson Road. While there, they observed a number of persons boarding a vehicle that was advertised as a Party Bus. A short time later the bus exited the lot, the officers intercepted the vehicle and found five people on board. A field search was conducted, each person was cited for Breach of the COVID19 Emergency Order and warned of prosecution.

In a second incident, preliminary reports are that shortly after 8:00 p.m., police responded to a large party that was being held at a location situated Boat Swain Hill. On the arrival of the officers, the crowd began to disperse. However, officers were successful in citing (18) eighteen people for Breach of the COVID19 Emergency Order and warned them of prosecution.
