POLICE INVESTIGATES THE LATEST HOMICIDES
Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two males that occurred in separate incidents on Monday 8th, February 2021.

In the first incident, preliminary reports are that shortly after 4:00 p.m., police were called to a tract road off Cowpen Road, east of Golden Isle Road, where officers discovered the unresponsive body of a male in bushes. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and pronounced the body lifeless following their examination. Police will await an autopsy report to determine the cause of death and an identification of the next of kin to verify the victim's identity. Investigations into this matter continues.

In the second incident, preliminary reports are that sometime after 11:00 p.m., police received reports of a shooting incident that occurred on Lincoln Boulevard, in the vicinity of Homestead Avenue. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they met a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the face. Emergency Medical Service were summoned, the victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. Investigations into this matter continues.

POLICE DISCOVERS AN UNLICENSED FIREARM
The proactive strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have once again resulted in the discovery and removal of an unlicensed firearm from the streets of New Providence on Monday 8th, February 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 1:00 p.m., acting on information officers from the Operation Unit went to hospital Lane and Scott Street. On their arrival to the targeted site, a search was conducted and as a result, one of the officers found a black pistol containing one unfired round of ammunition. No arrest was made during this incident. Investigation into this matter continues.

POLICE ARRESTED A MALE AND FEMALE FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS
The proactive strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have once again resulted in the arrest of a male for possession of dangerous drugs on Monday 8th February 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers from the Operations Unit executed a search warrant on a residence situated on Scott Street. As a result of the search, a quantity of suspected marijuana was found hidden behind a chair. A male and female suspect were arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.

POLICE ARRESTED TWO MALE SUSPECTS FOR ARMED ROBBERY
The quick response of officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has resulted in the arrest of two male suspects for an Armed Robbery which occurred on Monday 8th, February 2021.

Preliminary reports state that shortly after 8:00 p.m., police received report of an Armed Robbery that occurred in the area of St Andrews Beach Estate where a vehicle was taken from the victim. Units in the vicinity were alerted. A short time later officers from the Operation Unit observed a vehicle fitting the description. An initial attempt was made to stop the vehicle. However, the occupant driving the vehicle sped off. A chase ensued and resulted in the driver crashing in the Pinewood Gardens area. Two male suspects were caught and arrested; investigations into this matter continues.
