Police update on investigations into the death of the 4 year-old girl

As an update into the investigation of the death of 4 year old D’Onya Bella Walker, Police can confirm that she died as a result of blunt force trauma to the body which resulted in multiple fractures. Investigations into this matter continue.

Police are investigating a shooting incident

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 2:00 a.m., on Saturday 6th November 2021 police received reports of a shooting incident that occurred in Millennium Gardens, where a female was shot about the body. She was transported to the hospital via a private vehicle, where she is listed in stable condition.

Initial investigations revealed that a vehicle approached a residence in Millennium Gardens. As a result, a male exited that residence armed with a firearm and walked towards the vehicle. The driver a female, then reversed out of the yard. However, while doing so, the male discharged the firearm at the vehicle injuring her. The male was later taken into custody, he will be arraigned for Attempted Murder and Damage in the Magistrate Court on Wednesday 10 November 2021.

Police advisory to holders of Licensed Firearm

The Firearms Licensing Authority wishes to remind the holders of licensed firearms that the 2022 licensing period commences on 1st of November 2021. The fee for shotguns is $150 and $300 for rifles. Licensed holders are also reminded that a late fee of $50 begins on 15th January 2022.
