POLICE ARRESTED A MALE FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
The persistent efforts of the officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, have resulted in the arrest of a male for being in possession of a firearm and ammunition on Thursday 21st, January 2021.

Preliminary reports state that shortly before 9:00 p.m., acting on information officers from the Elizabeth Estate Police station proceeded to Commonwealth Boulevard, in the vicinity of Thelma Gibson Primary School. While approaching the school, they noticed a male suspect fitting the description given in the bulletin. As they drew closer to him, they observed when he dropped an object and ran. The officers pursued and captured the suspect, he was returned to where the object was dropped. A 9mm pistol containing (9) nine rounds of unfired ammunition was found. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter continue.
