Police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body

Preliminary information is that sometime around 5:00 p.m., police received a report that the decomposed body of a male was found in a car at a residence on Wendel Drive, Sunset Park. Officers were dispatched and on their arrival, they were directed to a black vehicle. On inspection of the vehicle, they found the badly decomposed body of a male in the rear seat. Police will await an autopsy report to determine the cause of death and an identification from a next of kin to verify the victim's identity. This matter remains under active investigation.

Police Officer shot while on duty

Preliminary information is that shortly after 5:00 p.m., a police officer while on duty at the Lynden Pindling International Airport was shot while assisting a business establishment with a deposit.

As the officer arrived at the deposit site, he was approached by a gunman who shot him before making his escape. The officer who was conscious following the encounter, was transported to the hospital where he received medical attention. He is listed in stable condition.

Police have taken a male suspect into custody, and a second suspect is being sought in connection with this matter which remains under active investigation
