January 21, 2021 POLICE ARRESTED A MALE FOR POSSESSION OF AN UNLICENSED FIREARM AND AMMUNITION The crime fighting initiatives employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in the arrest of a male for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Wednesday 20th, January 2021. Preliminary reports are that sometime around 9:00 a.m., officers from the Operations Unit while patrolling on East Avenue, observed a burgundy Nissan Note parked in front of a residence with a male occupant who aroused their suspicion. The officers approached the vehicle and ordered the male to exit. A field search was conducted, as a result the officers found a black and green 9mm pistol. The male was arrested and taken into custody for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Investigations into this matter continue. POLICE ARRESTED A MALE FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS The crime fighting strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in the arrest of a male for possession of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 20th, January 2021. Preliminary reports are that shortly before 4:00 p.m., acting on information officers from the Operation Unit went to a residence in Rockwell Estate where they conducted a search. The officers found a black bag which contained a quantity of suspected marijuana and cash. A male was arrested and taken into custody for possession of dangerous drug with the intent to supply and possession of the proceeds of crime. Investigations into this matter continue.
