Four male suspects arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms

The proactive strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in officers arresting (4) four male suspects for possession of Unlicensed Firearms in two incidents on Monday 6th September 2021.

In the first incident, preliminary reports are that shortly before 5:00 p.m., officers from the Operations Unit were on routine mobile patrol in the area of Clarke Lane off Mackey Street. When they observed a male acting in a suspicious manner. The officers approached the suspect and conducted a field search. As a result, one of the officers retrieved a 9mm pistol containing (9) nine unfired rounds of ammunition from the suspect. He was arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter continues.

In the second incident, preliminary reports are that shortly after 10:00 p.m., officers from the Operation Unit were on mobile patrol in the area of East Street South. When they observed the occupants of a silver Toyota Corolla who aroused their suspicion. The officers brought the vehicle to a stop and conducted a field search; during which they discovered a revolver that contained 6 unfired rounds of ammunition. Three male suspects were arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter continues.
