Advardo L. Dames


Superintendent of Police

Mr. Advardo L. Dames enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Police Force on 2nd March 1990 and currently is the officer in charge of the Central Division, Grand Bahama. During the course of his career he has served in several leadership positions as follows:

  • Mobile Patrol/Police Control Room Division

  • Rapid Response Unit

  • Criminal Records Office

  • Central Detective Unit

  • Central Division

Mr. Dames graduated from St. Augustine's College High School, Nassau, Bahamas. He is the holder of a Diploma in Forensic Science obtained from the American Institute of Applied Science, North Carolina, USA as well as an Associate Degree in Accounting from Atlantic College and Theological Seminary, Nassau, Bahamas. He is the recipient of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Medals for Meritorious Service and Long Service and Good Conduct. He owes much of his successes within the organization to superb tutelage and mentoring by great leaders past and present of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Additionally, he has gained invaluable instruction from international and local training, such as;
  • Major Case Investigation conducted by Federal Bureau of Investigations (Barbados)

  • Anti-Gang Forensic Workshop conducted by International Law Enforcement Academy (El Salvador)

  • Anti-Kidnapping Crisis Response Team Training conducted by Bureau of Diplomatic Security, US State Department (Louisiana, USA

  • He is a member of the Whole Man Cristian Center, Grand Bahama and serves as a Minister and Treasurer. Mr. Dames is married to Edith Dames and has four sons, Advardo, Angelo, Zion and Shiloh.
