NEW PROVIDENCE

ARRAIGNMENT: JUVENILE MALES

Police would like to inform the public that on Wednesday 06th March, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., the Criminal Investigation Department will place two (2) juvenile males before the Magistrate’s Court for the offence of Murder.

This is in connection with the fatal shooting of two (2) juvenile males that occurred on Monday 26th February, 2024 in the vicinity of Faith Avenue North.

POLICE SEEK SUSPECT IN ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are searching for a male who reportedly sexually assaulted a 17 year old female on Tuesday 05th March, 2024.

Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. at a beach in western New Providence. The Criminal Investigation Department is continuing investigations into this matter.

TWO (2) ARRESTED IN TODDLERS DEATH

Police are questioning a 23-year-old female, and a 45-year-old male, in connection with the death of a four (4) year old toddler.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday 05th March, 2024 police were notified of the incident which reportedly occurred at a residence on McKinney Drive.

It is reported that the child was left unattended in a bath tub and later found unresponsive by his guardians. Police can confirmed that the child was found with visible injuries; hence, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations into this matter continue.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

MORE THAN 200 MARIJUANA PLANTS CONFISCATED IN ABACO

Police on the island of Abaco confiscated more than two hundred (200) suspected Marijuana plants in Marsh Harbour around 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday 5th March, 2024.

Initial reports indicate that officers attached to the Marsh Harbour Police Station, acting on information, proceeded to an unnamed road, in the area of Ernest Dean Highway where they discovered over one hundred (100) suspected, Marijuana plants.

Additionally, officers made a further search of the nearby bushes and discovered over one hundred and thirty-nine (139) suspected Marijuana plants being cultivated. There were no arrests made in relation to this incident. Investigation continues.

FAMILY ISLANDS

ELEUTHERA: FIREARM AND DRUG CONFISCATION LEADS TO ARRESTS

Police in Eleuthera arrested four (4) men on Wednesday 06th March, 2024, in Green Castle following the confiscation of a firearm and suspected dangerous drugs.

Initial reports revealed that around 9:30 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence where they found a loaded high-powered weapon and a quantity of marijuana on the premises. This led to the arrest of the male occupants in the home, aged 38, 33, 32, and 26.

Investigations continue into this matter.

The Royal Bahamas Police Traffic Division, will be hosting its monthly “Traffic Compliance Driver Award” on Thursday 07th March 2024” at 12:00 noon in the vicinity of East Street and Wulff Road.

In addition to the Traffic Division's objective of enforcing road traffic laws and regulations, officers want to recognize those motorists who follow them.
