NEW PROVIDENCE

THREE MEN ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY

Police are questioning three (3) individuals in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a business establishment on Saturday 24th February, 2024.

The incident occurred after 8:00 p.m., in the vicinity of Baillou Hill Road and John Road.

According to initial reports two (2) unknown males entered the establishment, brandished a firearm, and held the employees at bay before stealing a large sum of cash, belonging to the business. The culprits exited and fled the scene in a gray Japanese model vehicle. Upon receiving information, responding officers arrived on Fleming Street and located a vehicle matching the description. The sole male occupant, aged 29, was arrested.

Following further leads, officers apprehended two (2) additional male suspects, aged 28 and 25, while also on Fleming Street.

Investigations are ongoing into this incident .

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in finding the following vehicle that was reported stolen on Sunday 25 th February, 2024:

  1. A 2014 Honda Fit L/P #AU5807 – stolen from St. Albans Drive

NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE LATEST HOMICIDE

Police are currently investigating a shooting incident on Wilson Track off Cordeaux Avenue that killed a 35-year-old father and injured his 16-year-old daughter.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 7: 00 a.m. on Sunday 25th February, 2024.

According to preliminary reports, the victim had just arrived at a residence and was picking up his 16-year-old daughter. As they were leaving the premises in his vehicle, a white Chevrolet truck, the occupants of a small silver vehicle pulled alongside them.

It is reported that two males, armed with firearms, exited the silver vehicle and opened fire on the truck, resulting in the father and daughter being shot before the assailants returned to their vehicle and fled the area.

The father sustained multiple gunshot wounds; he was examined by EMS personnel, but they determined he showed no vital signs of life; however, his daughter was taken to the hospital via emergency services, where, at present, her condition is unknown.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any additional information that can help solve this matter to contact 919/911, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991/2, or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477).

ELEUTHERA

POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY

Police are investigating a fatal crash on the island of Eleuthera that has resulted in the death of a 39-year-old male.

The incident occurred on Sunday 25th February, 2024 shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Queens Highway, Hatchet Bay.

Initial reports indicate that the male operator of a white and black 650 HP Suzuki Dual Sport motorcycle reportedly lost control while traveling north on Queens Highway and was subsequently thrown from the motorcycle, sustaining head trauma.

Responding officers, upon arrival at the location, found him in nearby bushes, unresponsive. The local doctor and the medical team on the island visited the scene, examined the victim, and pronounced him deceased.

The Serious Accident Reconstruction Team (SART) from the Traffic Division- New Providence will be conducting investigations into this incident.

Police encourage ALL motorcyclists to wear protective helmets when operating any motorized cycle to save their lives.
