NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT

On Sunday, 27th April, 2025, a shooting incident occurred off East Street, resulting in an adult male being hospitalized.

Shortly after 10:10 p.m., ShotSpotter Technology notified police of gunfire on Lily of the Valley Corner. According to initial reports, two individuals were outside a residence when a silver Japanese-model vehicle stopped nearby. It is alleged that two unknown gunmen exited the vehicle and fired shots in the direction of the individuals before fleeing the scene.

One of the individuals, a 21-year-old man, sustained multiple gunshot injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was last listed in serious but stable condition.

The investigation into this matter continues.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY

Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that took place on Sir Milo Butler Highway shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Monday, 28th April, 2025.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim had pulled alongside the highway near an establishment when a dark-coloured Japanese-model car also stopped nearby. It is alleged that three unknown males exited the vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle. One of the suspects was armed with a knife as they robbed the victim of cash and other personal belongings. The culprits returned to their vehicle and left the area, traveling north along the highway. The investigation continues.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: MAN ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM & DRUGS

Police in Grand Bahama confiscated a firearm and a quantity of suspected drugs during a traffic stop on Sunday, 27th April, 2025.

Initial reports indicate that sometime around 5:15 p.m., officers from the Mobile Division conducted a routine stop-and-search of a vehicle while on Murchison Drive and Pioneers Way. After the vehicle stopped, the male passenger exited and fled the scene on foot, heading west. In response, officers detained the driver and searched the vehicle, where they discovered a firearm containing ammunition and a quantity of suspected marijuana. As a result, the 24-year-old male was taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation.

ARRAIGNMENT

Police wish to inform the General Public that on Monday, 28th April 2025, a 32-year-old man will be arraigned in Magistrate Court in connection with multiple Bail Violations and a Murder incident that occurred in 2021, on the island of Abaco.

ABACO: POLICE INVESTIGATE DOG ATTACK

Police in Abaco are investigating a dog attack that occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Monday, 28th April, 2025, in Dundas Town.

The preliminary report revealed that a 48-year-old male was walking when three unrestrained dogs attacked him. Officers from the Marsh Harbour Police Station responded to the scene and met two aggressive dogs on top of the victim. In an effort to protect the individual, one of the officers discharged his service weapon, resulting in one dog fleeing and the other being fatally wounded.

The injured male was transported to a local clinic for medical treatment. The investigation into this matter continues.
