NEW PROVIDENCE
FIREARMS RECOVERED IN TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS
In two separate incidents, law enforcement officers seized firearms and several individuals were taken into custody.
Incident 1
On Thursday, 24th April, 2025, after 10:00 p.m., officers attached to Black Scorpion conducted a routine stop-and-search of a vehicle. During the search, a firearm containing ammunition was discovered. Two individuals, a 26-year-old male and a 25-year-old female, were taken into custody.
Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
Incident 2
On Friday, 25th April, 2025, shortly before 3:00 a.m., police from the Northeastern Division and the Eastern Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Wilton Street off Mackey Street. A loaded firearm was discovered and confiscated, which led to the arrest of two males, aged 23 and 16, and a 21-year-old female.
Both matters remain under active investigation.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Thursday, 24th April, 2025:
- A white 2012 Nissan Cube – stolen from Millennium Gardens.
- A light blue 2014 Nissan Note L/P #AU6161 – stolen from Farrington Road.
- A black 2013 Nissan Note L/P #AX3799 – stolen from Stevenson Subdivision.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT VICTIM SUCCUMBED IN HOSPITAL
Police wish to inform the public that two motorists were involved in a traffic accident on Monday, 21st April 2025, on Carmichael Road West. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 46-year-old male, was initially transported to the hospital and succumbed on Tuesday, 22nd April, 2025.
The Traffic Division is actively investigating this matter.
NORTHERN BAHAMAS
ABACO: POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT
Police in Abaco are questioning two adult male suspects of US nationality in connection with an alleged sexual assault involving an adult female of US nationality.
The incident was reported to police shortly before 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, 24th April, 2025. Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted while onboard a commercial vessel. Two men, aged 28 and 26, who were passengers on board a commercial vessel, were arrested as the investigation continues.
