NEW PROVIDENCE

MAN ARRESTED IN FIREARM SEIZURE

On Friday, 18th April, 2025, a 33-year-old man was taken into police custody following the seizure of a firearm on Deveaux Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 8:30 p.m., officers attached to Operation Black Scorpion observed a suspicious male in a yard while on mobile patrol. As a result, they approached and searched him, and found a firearm containing ammunition in his possession, leading to his arrest. The investigation continues.

Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen on Friday, 18th April, 2025:

  1. A gray 2008 Nissan Note L/P #AS1183 – stolen from Rosewood Street, Pinewood Gardens.
  2. A silver 2006 Nissan Bluebird L/P #AD2840 – stolen from Bahama Boulevard.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE DROWNING

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the drowning of an adult male that occurred on Friday, 18th April, 2025, before 1:00 p.m.

According to initial reports, three men left Pinder’s Point on a fishing trip when their vessel began taking on water and eventually capsized. While two of the men managed to stay with the boat, one reportedly encountered difficulties. His unresponsive body was later recovered from the water by a passing vessel.

Emergency Medical Services visited the scene but were unable to detect any vital signs of life. The investigation into this incident continues.
