NEW PROVIDENCE

ROAD CLOSURE: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE UNIT OFFICIAL OPENING

The police wish to inform the public that the official opening of the Domestic Violence Unit will be held on Monday, 14th April 2025, at 9:30 a.m., on Infant View Road between Dunmore Avenue and Columbus Avenue. That being said, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the completion of the ceremony, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • Infant View Road between Dunmore Avenue and Columbus Avenue.

Parking

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. and until after the ceremony, no vehicle will be permitted to park on the following streets:

  • Infant View Road between Dunmore Avenue and Columbus Avenue (Both sides).

Furthermore, parking will be available at the Botanical Gardens, and shuttle services to the Domestic Violence Unit will start at 8:30 a.m. The Royal Bahamas Police Force extends apologies for any inconvenience caused.

FIREARM CONFISCATED On Saturday, 12th April, 2025, officers assigned to Black Scorpion acting on information received, confiscated a firearm in the Mount Tabor Gardens area, off Carmichael Road.

According to the initial report, officers conducted a search of a bushy area shortly after 2:15 p.m., where they discovered and confiscated a firearm containing ammunition. No arrests were made. The investigation continues.

Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort, inclusive of the police and officers of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE DISCOVERY OF MALE BODY

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a male body in a bushy area on Sunday, 13th April, 2025.

According to the initial report, officers were alerted after 9:30 a.m. and responded to a location off Grand Bahama Highway, where they found an unresponsive male body. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene but were unable to find any vital signs of life.

Further, an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation continues.
