NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY
Police are investigating a traffic accident that occurred on Monday, 7th April, 2025, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
The collision took place shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Shirley Street near Highland Terrace and involved a green, white & black Kawasaki motorcycle ridden by a male. He sustained serious injuries after colliding with a lamp post. Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where he later succumbed to those injuries.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
SEARCH ONGOING FOR MISSING MAN AT SEA
Search and rescue efforts are underway for an adult male who has gone missing on Sunday, 6th April, 2025, in waters near Long Cay, opposite Saunders Beach.
Police were alerted of the incident shortly after 10:00 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate that the man went missing while attempting to retrieve his drifting jet ski. The individual who was with him was later rescued by a passing vessel.
The jet ski has since been recovered by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, however, the man remains missing. The investigation and search efforts are ongoing.
