NEW PROVIDENCE
TWO ARRESTED IN FIREARMS SEIZURE
On Thursday, 3rd April 2025, the Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated two (2) firearms from a residence in Pinewood Gardens, which resulted in two individuals being arrested.
According to the preliminary report, shortly before 10:45 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at a home on Avocado Street, where they discovered and seized a loaded high-powered weapon and a loaded firearm with a quantity of ammunition. Consequently, a 23-year-old female and an 18-year-old male were taken into custody.
The investigation continues.
UPDATE ON MISSING MEN AT SEA
Police wish to inform the public that the men reported missing at sea from Bullocks Harbour, the Berry Islands, were found in waters off Bimini.
The men were transported to Bimini by members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force Officers. They appear to be in good health but will be evaluated at the local clinic. That said, the police would like to thank the members of the public and other agencies, both locally and internationally, who assisted in this search and rescue operation.
ARRAIGNMENT
Police wish to inform the Public that on Friday, 4th April 2025, at noon, two (2) males will be placed before the Magistrate Court charged as mentioned below:
- A 19-year-old man will be arraigned and charged with the offenses of Murder and Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at McCullough Corner off East Street.
- A 16-year-old juvenile male will be arraigned and charged with the offense of Murder. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 30, 2025, on Fleming Street, off Market Street.
POLICE INVESTIGATE INDUSTRIAL INCIDENT
Police are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident that has left a 26-yearold man seriously injured on Friday, 4th April, 2025,after 2:00 a.m.
Officers were alerted of the incident after 7:40 a.m., which occurred in the Downtown area off Bay Street. According to initial reports, the man allegedly injured himself while operating a heavy duty machine. He sustained severe head injuries and was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
GRAND BAHAMA
ARRAIGNMENT
On Friday 4th April 2025, 33 year old Kervin Honore was formally arraigned before Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Charlton Smith, where he was not required to enter a plea to the following charges:
- Arson of a building at Fritz Bridal that occurred on 6th March 2025.
- Endangering property by negligent use of fire that occurred at Princess Country Club on 6th March 2025.
- Endangering property by negligent use of fire that occurred in bushes near BAIC on 28th March 2025.
- Causing Damage by fire of Freeport Power Utility Poles on 28th March 2025. He was remanded to The Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre. The matter has been adjourned to Monday, 12th May, 2025.
INTEL LEADS TO FIREARM SEIZURE
Officers from Operation Black Scorpion seized a firearm on Friday, 4th April, 2025, in Masons Addition after acting on information received.
Initial reports indicate that officers searched an abandoned structure on Saxons Way shortly before 2:00 p.m. and confiscated an unloaded firearm. No arrests were made as investigations continue.
Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort operation involving police and officers from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
