NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE SEIZED FIREARM- ONE MALE ARRESTED
Officers attached to Operation Black Scorpion took into custody a 32-year-old male on Tuesday, 25th March 2025, after he was found in possession of a loaded firearm.
According to the preliminary report, shortly after noon, officers were on routine mobile patrol in the area of Major Road, Yellow Elder, when their attention was drawn to a male acting suspiciously. As a result, officers conducted a search of the male, where a loaded firearm was found in his possession. Consequently, he was arrested, cautioned, and is assisting with the investigation.
Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort involving the police and officers from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT- TWO PERSONS INJURED
Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, 25th March 2025, in First Street the Grove, that left a male aged 33 and a female aged 43 years old hospitalized.
According to the preliminary report, police were alerted of the incident shortly after 8:00 p.m. and proceeded to the scene. It is reported that a male had just arrived at his residence, accompanied by a female coworker. As he exited the vehicle, he was confronted by an armed male who discharged multiple gunshots in their direction. Afterward, the culprit returned to a white Japanese-model vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction. As a result, the female sustained gunshot injuries about the body and the male sustained injuries to his left hand. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and transported both victims to the hospital for medical attention.
The female victim was last listed in serious but stable condition while the male victim was listed as non life-threatening.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicle that was reported stolen between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 25th March 2025:
- A red 2012 Suzuki Swift L/P # AY3118 - stolen from Gum tree Street, Pinewood Gardens.

ADVISORY: ROAD CLOSURE FOR POLICE MONTH 2025 MINI-TATTOO
The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division wishes to advise the General Public that road closures will be in effect on Friday, 28th March 2025, to facilitate a mini-tattoo event to be held in the community of Englerston. The event will take place at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Cordeaux Avenue beginning at 5:00 p.m.
ROAD CLOSURE:
From 2:00 p.m., the following streets will be closed, and NO VEHICLES will be permitted to park on the following streets:
- NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL ALONG LINCOLN BLVD BETWEEN CORDEAUX AVE AND THE NORTHERN GATE OF E.P. ROBERT PRIMARY SCHOOL.
- NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL EAST ALONG CORDEAUX AVE BEYOND MIAMI STREET.
- NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL WEST ALONG CORDEAUX AVENUE BEYOND LINCOLNSON STREET (ROAD EAST SIDE OF THE PARK)
TRAFFIC DIVERSION
- ALL VEHICULAR TRAFFIC WILL BE APPROPRIATELY DIVERTED FROM THE AFFECTED AREAS.
