NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATE LATEST SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police are investigating two (2) shooting incidents that occurred in the capital overnight, leaving two adult males injured and hospitalized.
The first incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, 17th March 2025, in the vicinity of Darling Street and Wulff Road. Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of a male being shot. The initial reports indicated that the 23-year-old male victim was walking on Wulff Road when a male on a motorcycle approached him and discharged gunshots in his direction. As a result, the victim sustained gunshot injuries about the body. He was transported to the hospital by private vehicle, where his condition was last listed as stable but critical.
Regarding the second incident, police responded to reports of a male being shot shortly after 11:00p.m. in Peardale. According to initial reports, the victim, a 21-year-old male, was sitting in front of a residence with a group of males when the occupants of a white Japanese-model vehicle approached, exited the vehicle and discharged gunshots in their direction. The culprits then returned to the vehicle and left in an unknown direction. The victim sustained gunshot injuries to the upper back area and was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services for medical attention. His condition was last listed as stable but critical.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred on Monday, 17th March 2025, in the area of Baillou Hill and Robinson Roads.
Initial reports indicate that shortly after 9:00 a.m., the victim was walking when he was confronted by an unknown male driving a silver Japanese-model vehicle. This male then produced a firearm and robbed him of his cellphone. The suspect then fled the scene, heading towards Robinson Road making good his escape.
STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED
In the first incident, a light blue 2007 Lexus GS 430 L/P# that was recently reported stolen was recovered in a parking lot in the Western District of New Providence. This vehicle was reported stolen in the early morning hours of Monday, March 17th, 2025.
In the second incident, a white 2013 Nissan Cube L/P# AU5450 that was recently reported stolen was recovered in an area off of Homestead Street. This vehicle was reported stolen on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025.
