NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE CONFISCATED TWO FIREARMS – ONE PERSON IN CUSTODY
In the first incident, on Friday, 14th March, 2025, just after midnight, officers confiscated a firearm and arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male, in reference to possession of a firearm.
According to the preliminary report, shortly before midnight, officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of White’s Edition, Kemp Road. While making checks, officers became suspicious after a male fled upon seeing them. A pursuit ensued and the suspect threw a firearm on a roof which was safely recovered. Consequently, he was arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
In the second incident, on Friday 14th March, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers acting on information proceeded to the area of Brougham Street where they confiscated a firearm. No arrests were made.
Operation Black Scorpion is a collaborative effort inclusive of the Police and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force officers.
STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT
Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle listed below that was reported stolen on Thursday, 13 th March, 2025:
- A navy blue 2009 Honda Civic L/P #AM1938 – stolen from Fire Trail Road.

ADVISORY: ROAD CLOSURE FOR POLICE MONTH 2025 MINI-TATTOO
The Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Traffic Division wishes to advise the General Public that road closures will be in effect on Friday, 14th March, 2025, to facilitate a mini-tattoo held by the Royal Bahamas Police Force in the Kemp Road community at Uriah McPhee Primary School, Kemp Road & Williams Lane, at 5:00 p.m.
ROAD CLOSURE:
From 4:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the mini-tattoo, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
- Kemp Road, between Mount Pleasant Avenue and Chesapeake Road
DEATH INVESTIGATION
Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old male who died in hospital on 14th March, 2025.
Preliminary reports revealed that sometime shortly after 6:00 a.m., the deceased was brought to the hospital via private transportation by someone known to him after allegedly sustaining injuries to the head area; from an accident at a construction site.

GRAND BAHAMA
ADVISORY: ROAD CLOSURE FOR JUNIOR JUNKANOO PARADE 2025
The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division wishes to inform the general public that road closures will come into effect on Saturday, 15th March, at 12:00 p.m. The road will be closed on Explorers Way between Kent Street and Woodstock Street.
At 3:00 p.m. until completion, the following Junkanoo routes will be closed:
- West Atlantic Drive in the area of Jet Wash, heading north to Explorers Way.
- West Mall Drive in the area of Burger King heading north to Explorers Way.
- Intersection of West Explorers Way and Livingston Drive heading east.
- West Atlantic Drive in the area of Kelly's roundabout heading south to Explorers Way.
- West Mall Drive in the area of Regency Western Building heading south to Explorers Way.
- Intersection of Explorers Way and East Mall Drive heading west.
- Intersection of Explorers Way and Woodstock Street heading south to Gloucester Street.
- Gloucester Street heading west to York Street.
- The intersection of York Street and Gloucester Street heading north to Explorers Way.
