NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE CONFISCATED TWO FIREARMS IN TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS

In the first incident, on Monday, March 10th, 2025, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Tourism Patrol Officers arrested two males, ages 36 and 37, for possession of a firearm in the area of Virginia and Augusta Streets.

According to the preliminary report, officers were on routine mobile patrol when they observed two males acting suspiciously beside a vehicle. Officers approached the males and conducted a search, which revealed a firearm in their possession. Consequently, both males were taken into custody and are assisting with the investigation.

In the second incident, on Tuesday, 11th March, 2025, officers attached to Operation Black Scorpion confiscated a firearm shortly after 1:00 a.m., in the area of Wilkinson.

Initial reports revealed that officers, while acting on information, proceeded to Wilkinson Street where they were able to confiscate a firearm and a small quantity of dangerous drugs. No arrests were made.

POLICE INVESTIGATE DISCOVERY OF FETUS

On Tuesday, 11th March, 2025, shortly before 11:00 a.m., police acting on information proceeded to a marina on Paradise Island where the body of a fetus was discovered in the waters.

POLICE CONFISCATE FIREARM

On Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, officers attached to Carmichael Urban Renewal confiscated a firearm on Turtle Drive around 10:30 a.m.

According to the preliminary report, officers and personnel from the Clear, Hold, and Build initiative were clearing a vacant property when the discovery was made. No arrests were made.

GRAND BAHAMA

SUSPECTS ARRESTED, AFTER LEADING OFFICERS ON HIGH-SPEED CHASE

Officers attached to the Drug Enforcement Unit in Grand Bahama, reported arresting two (2) adult males, ages 34 and 29 and one female, age 31, for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply and Assault with a Dangerous Instrument.

Preliminary reports revealed that on Monday, 10th March 2025, shortly before 3:30 p.m., acting on information, officers attempted to stop a tan Chevy Malibu in North Bahamia. However, the diver refused to stop, which resulted in a pursuit. During the pursuit, the occupants of the vehicle discarded suspected Hydroponic Marijuana from the vehicle’s window. Eventually, the vehicle stopped and as the officers attempted to arrest the occupants, the driver assaulted one of the officers with the vehicle, trying to evade arrest. The officer being in fear for his life discharged his service weapon but no injuries were reported. Consequently, all occupants were arrested and a small quantity of Marijuana was discovered in the vehicle. Investigation continues.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police in Grand Bahama are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicles that were reported stolen.

  1. A black 2010 4-door Toyota BB L/P #GE2019: Stolen from the Village Bahamia Apartments, South Bahamia between Sunday, 9th March, 2025 and Tuesday 11th March, 2025.
  2. Red 2017 Acura ILX L/P#GF0611: Stolen from Oleander Street on 11th March, 2025.
