NEW PROVIDENCE

FIREARM SEIZED BY SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OFFICERS

On Friday, 14th February 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., while acting on information received, Southwestern Division Officers seized a firearm and ammunition.

The incident took place on Hunts Close, off Carmichael Road, where officers recovered a firearm and ammunition. No arrests were made as the investigation continues.

RECOVERED & STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Recovered

The following vehicle was recovered on Thursday, 13th February 2025:

  1. A beige 2006 Nissan Tiida L/P #GF0084 – recovered on Pigeon Plum Avenue. It was reported stolen on Wednesday, 12th February 2025, from St. Croix Road, Golden Gates #2.

Stolen

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating the following stolen vehicle that was reported stolen Friday, 14th February 2025:

  1. A black 2007 Nissan Note – stolen from Caspian Road, off Havens Road.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

BIMINI: POLICE INVESTIGATE DROWNING

Police in Bimini are investigating a drowning incident that occurred on Saturday, 15th February 2025, after 1:00 p.m.

Initial reports indicate that a 46-year-old male was riding a jet ski when it overturned, resulting in him struggling to remain afloat. He was assisted to shore but became unresponsive. CPR was administered but proved fruitless. He was later pronounced dead at the local clinic.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.

FAMILY ISLANDS

EXUMA: MAN INJURED IN SHARK ATTACK

Police are investigating an alleged shark attack that occurred on Friday, 14th February, 2025, in the waters of Exuma.

Preliminary reports indicate that sometime around 3:00 p.m., while docking his vessel, the victim jumped overboard to swim with the sharks and was bitten to the upper body area. He was transported by vessel to New Providence, where he received initial medical treatment for his injuries but declined further care. It should be noted that his injuries are non-life-threatening.
