23rd Pre-International Drug Enforcement Conference

In effort to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs and firearms within the region, law enforcement officers from agencies across the region are meeting in Nassau, Bahamas for the 23rd Pre-International Drug Enforcement Conference (Pre-IDEC).

Every year Drug Enforcement Officials meet to discuss trends within the illegal drug trade and best practices on how to combat the challenges that face law enforcement.

During the Opening Ceremony on 20th February, 2017 Minister of National Security, Dr. Hon. Bernard J. Nottage and Acting Charge' d' Affaires, Jamie Martin in their address extended a special welcome to the delegates from 23 countries.

Also addressing the delegates with brief remarks were Acting Deputy Commissioner, Anthony Ferguson and Matthew Donahue, Special Agent in Charge, Caribbean Division.

Countries represented are: Anguilla, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bonaire, Columbia, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Peru, Puerto Rico,
St. Croix, V.I., St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, V.I., St. Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos Islands & United States of America.
