On Tuesday 14th February, 2017 officers from South-central Division and firefighters from Fire Services, Police Headquarters, conducted a Fire Safety exercise with fifteen students and two teachers of Summit Academy located East Bay Street.

Following the brief presentation and exercise, students were left with the following nuggets in the event they encounter a fire at home, school or elsewhere in the community:

  • Don't play with matches and lighters;

  • If your clothes is on fire: Stop, Drop & Roll;

  • If a building is filled with smoke: Fall & Crawl;

  • Once Outside, Stay Outside

This initiative is consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017; Working with the Young People.
