Police Seize Firearm. Male and Two Females in Custody

Consistent with the Commissioner's 2017 Policing Plan, Priority # 1, Southwestern Division officers took into custody an adult male along with two Jamaican females following the seizure of a handgun on Wednesday 1st February 2017.

Reports are that around 11:00am, Southwestern Division officers were on routine patrol on Lazaretto Road, when they spotted a male sitting in a Honda vehicle that was suspected of being used in a number of armed robberies and house breakings.

On approaching the vehicle, the male threw a firearm outside of the vehicle. The officers recovered the firearm and found it to be a .380 revolver with 2 live rounds of ammunition.

The male suspect was then taken into custody. Officers acting on information conducted a search of the suspectís home nearby and uncovered an assortment of jewelry and electronic items suspected of being stolen.

Additionally, two Jamaica females were arrested at the home for Breach of the Immigration Act.
