Commissioner of Police Reads Proclamation from Governor General Dissolving Parliament

Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade, again in his capacity of provost marshal read the proclamation from Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling for Dissolution of Parliament from the steps of Parliament on Bank Lane on Tuesday 11th, April, 2017.

Commissioner Greenslade also read the proclamation that Parliament will reconvene on May 24th, 2017.

The prorogation of Parliament, which was read on Friday 7th, April, 2017 ends a session of Parliament while dissolution results in the end of the life of the Parliament and a general election must follow.
