Grafton O. Ifill Sr. Q.P.M is a founding member of the Police Dependents Trust.
A former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ifill served in the substantive ranks of the Royal Bahamas Police Force for thirty years (1956 - 1986), and a further eleven years (1988 - 1999) as Commandant of the Police Reserves. He is the current President of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Retired Police Officers Association.
Former Assistant Commissioner Ifill is now in the private sector as the Founder and President of Migrafill Security International Ltd. , one of leading security services in The Bahamas for almost twenty-five years.
As a former member of the Force, having served his country for some 41 years, Mr. Ifill has vital, first-hand experience in the risks and sacrifices associated with the dedicated pursuuit of law enforcement and national security.
During his time on the Force, he held numerous substantive positions, in virtually every branch of the Force. Some of the distinguished assignments include: Director of Special Branch/Security & Intelligence Branch, Officer-in-Charge - Criminal Investigation Department, Officer-in-Charge - New Providence District and Family Islands, Court Prosecutor, Head of Police College, Head of Northern Region and Commandant of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Reserves.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Ifill was known to be one of those exemplary police officers on the Force who always took vital steps to ensure that the statute laws of the country were enforced and justice always prevailed.
Through dedication and exemplary service, former Assistant Commissioner Ifill received various awards and accolades while on the force; including the Long Service and Meritorious Police Medals. He was also awarded the special honor of the Queen's Police Medal (QPM) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2007.
A committed member of the community, Grafton Ifill Sr. has served in numerous charitable organizations, including as the Chairman of the Salvation Army board in Freeport, Grand Bahama and as a sponsor of the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations.
He is an active member of the Anglican Church Men (ACM) at Christ of Ascension Church in Freeport, Grand Bahama. He and his wife Joyce Ifill have three adult children and seven grandchildren.
